Margarida Azevedo



Margarida Azevedo is a designer, teacher and researcher in the areas of Packaging Design, Visual Identity Systems and Social and Inclusive Design. She has worked as a designer and creative director since 1989 and has taught at ESAD since 1990. A researcher at esad-idea, she has a PhD in Design from the Universitat Politècnica de València, a master's degree in Industrial Product Design from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, and a degree in Communication Design/Graphic Art from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto. She received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, was a consultant for the Portuguese Design Center between 1998 and 2013 and was the coordinator of the Design Degree, Communication branch at ESAD from 1994 to 2021.

Margarida Azevedo is currently the scientific coordinator of the CTeSP Food Product Communication Design and the postgraduate course Innovation in Design, Tourism and the Blue Economy, BDA Water Design Alliance at ESAD. She has led workshops, taken part in juries, congresses and scientific committees, as well as coordinating several award-winning projects. He has published articles in books, magazines and other national and international scientific publications. He is an expert reviewer and member of the editorial boards of several international scientific publications.
