Post-Millennium

— Critical Essays on Contemporary Tensions

Consisting of 3 issues, Post-Millennium is a journal of critical thinking published in the context of the Porto Design Biennale 2019. The collection addresses the contemporary intersections or conflicts between Design and other disciplinary domains.

Following the theme of the Porto Design Biennale 2019 — Post Millennium Tension — the collection brings together multidisciplinary contributions to challenge contemporary design practices and critically map post-millennium tensions — identitarian, geopolitical, technological, financial, environmental.

Graphically bold, featuring new and republished essays by leading international contemporary artists and thinkers, the three issues of the journal, published in Portuguese and English, are: #1: Pessimism of the Intellect, Optimism of the Will — Optimism & Foresight; #2: Attitudes Become Form — Curating & Design; #3: We Would Prefer Not To — Resistance & Resilience.

The 3rd issue of Post-Millennium was selected for the 2021 Best Book Design From All Over the World competition.
