In March 2020, as part of the final project for the undergraduate in Design — Communication, KYRT (Keep Your Radar Turning) was developed in the course units of Project, Graphic Production, Digital Media Design, Visual Culture, and Design Theory. The proposal was based on the concept of ‘limit’ as a central theme, from which our group decided to explore death as the limit of life. The research resulted in three complementary media: an editorial, a website and an audiovisual performance, brought together under the title Unavoidable Limit: a perception of the afterlife.
The editorial compiles and organises 68 theories about life after death, crossing scientific, philosophical, religious and mythological perspectives. The website offers an interactive experience that guides the user through a series of questions, revealing the theory closest to their beliefs, and then allowing them to explore and compare the others. Finally, the video performance interprets the relationship with this limit in a sensory and poetic way, combining image, sound and text in an intimate and symbolic reflection. This project does not seek definitive answers, but proposes a space for questioning, where the unknown ceases to be an end and becomes the starting point for new interpretations.
