Sevgi Aka is a conceptual and academic artist. Her works, predominantly installations, deal with physical and conceptual absence as a field of possibilities. She studied Art History in Celaya, Mexico, Visual Arts at Sabanci University, Istanbul, and at the School of the Art Institute Chicago.

Her most recent exhibition Leaking from Sleep took place at Gallery A, Izmir, TR in 2023 and The Belly of the Whale, a spatial intervention on the Bosphorus, Istanbul, in 2022. His work has been presented in group exhibitions in Istanbul, Berlin, Vienna, Chicago and New York.
He currently works at Topkapi University and teaches visual arts. In 2024, she was awarded the title of Associate Professor by the Higher Education Council of Turkey.
