Rafael Gonçalves is a freelance designer, web developer and creative programmer. Working from Porto, he provides services all over the world. He works mainly on the development of websites for the cultural and artistic context, including the websites for the Porto Design Biennale (2019 and 2021 editions), Arquivo da Matéria Viva, Casa do Design, Colour Code Communication, Porto Design Summer School, EdenX, among others.
He teaches Digital Media Design, Interface Programming and Creative Coding and co-coordinates the Information-Driven Design postgraduate programme at ESAD. He is a researcher at esad-idea and was new media director of the Porto Design Biennale 2021. Since 2023 he has been a student on the Computational Media Design PhD programme at the University of Coimbra.
