João Martino (1972, Porto) is a communication designer, researcher, and educator, graduated and credentialed in Communication Design at ESAD Matosinhos (1996 and 2016).

He co-founded Atelier Martino&Jaña (1999–2014) and is a co-founder of the Nonverbal Club studio (2014–), where he develops distinguished work, particularly in the cultural and architectural fields, with a particular emphasis on editorial projects, identity, visual systems, and digital communication. He also has skills in graphic automation, coding, and artificial intelligence.

As an educator, he teaches the Project course at ESAD, where he has also held various coordination positions. Additionally, he taught the Advanced Studies in Editorial Design and Typography course in the Master's in Graphic Design and Editorial Projects at FBAUP – Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto (2008–2016), and he is the coordinator of the Post-Graduation in Information-Oriented Design at ESAD (2020–). He was also a founding member of the association We Came From Space - Research and Knowledge Exchange Platform (2012–2018).
