Joana Teodoro
Joana Teodoro is a fashion designer, lecturer and design researcher. She has a degree in Fashion Design from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon and a Master's in Artistic Education from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
As a fashion designer, she has worked in various contexts, such as the Storytailors atelier and Tetribérica. She founded her own brands Ladybug and REC — Recycled Clothing, in a more personal and identitarian search for design and the fashion system. From an experimental and interdisciplinary practice, she explored circular design processes and concepts that led her to research, this time linked to educational sciences and the study of fashion design teaching in Portugal.
Since 2016 she has been teaching Project I — Fashion and in 2019 she took over as co-director of the Fashion Department, seeking to respond to the growing challenges of the textile and fashion industry, in which design has a purpose and strong social and environmental responsibility.
