Diogo Vilar has been working as a designer since 1999, collaborating with institutions such as the São João National Theatre, Porto and Matosinhos City Councils, the Paulo Cunha e Silva Award, Matosinhos Sport, Matosinhos Habit, the Júlio Resende Foundation, the Design History Society, Fábrica Santo Thryso, ESAD Design Cluster, Rar Imobiliária and Pulverizadores Rocha.

Throughout his career, he has developed special projects such as Experimenta Design, Porto Design Biennale, Ano Português do Design, Projecto Orfeu, Escultor Carlos Marques, Objects After Objects, A Liberdade da Imagem, Pli magazine and Casa do Design. With a degree in Communication Design from ESAD, Diogo also has a Master's degree in the same field, completed in 2014.

Between 1999 and 2018, he taught Applied Informatics, Digital Media Design and Screen Design at ESAD. In 2004, he created and directed ESAD's Web Department, coordinating the development of the institutional website, online shop and educational management platforms.

Since 2014, Diogo has been a founding partner and researcher at esad-idea. He was Executive Director of esad-idea, the Association for Promotion and Research in Design and Art, from 2019 to 2023. He is currently a member of the Executive Board of ESAD - Escola Superior de Artes e Design.
