The illustrator Yara Kono (BRA) presents a conference about her career in illustration albums in Portugal and abroad, as part of ESAD Illustration Talks.

Subjects such as editorial illustration, the conception and publication of books or editorial management will be addressed. The conference, which will take place in the ESAD auditorium, on January 20th at 16:30, is open to the general public.

Yara Kono was born in São Paulo, Brazil, is an illustrator and graphic designer. She studied Biochemical Pharmacy at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), but already in the Cytology classes her drawings were the most popular. During the course, she interned at an advertising agency, continuing her studies in Design and Communication at the Escola Panamericana de Arte. He currently lives in Portugal and since 2004 he is part of the team of Planeta Tangerina.

He won the National Prize for Illustration in 2010 and the Bissaya Barreto Prize in 2016. Mentions and selections include the Compostela Award, Nami Concours (South Korea) and Bologna Illustrators Exhibition.
