ESAD took part in the latest edition of the Cross-Culture Workshop – Part 2, organised by the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJAIT) in Warsaw, from 18 to 22 May 2026.
The international event brought together lecturers, researchers and students from various European and Asian universities, promoting the sharing of artistic, scientific and cultural knowledge through workshops, conferences and collaborative activities in the fields of design, animation, illustration, audiovisual media, typography, branding, Japanese calligraphy and new technologies.
ESAD was represented by the intensive workshop ‘Between Analogue and Digital Motion’, led by Marta Varzim, a lecturer at the school and coordinator of the Undergraduate Degree in Digital Arts and Multimedia. Over the course of 30 hours, participants explored experimental techniques in animation and visual communication, combining analogue and digital processes to create animated micro-narratives.
ESAD’s participation in this international event reinforces the institution’s commitment to pedagogical innovation, internationalisation and the development of collaborative networks within the context of arts education and contemporary design.
