Three former Fashion Design students among the finalists of Sangue Novo 2025/26
Three recent Fashion Design graduates — Adja Baio, Mariana Garcia and Xavier Silva (Usual Suspect) — are among the five finalists of the Sangue Novo competition supported by Seaside, part of MODALISBOA BASE, which took place on 3 October.
The five finalists will now develop new collections, which will be presented in March 2026, during the next edition of ModaLisboa. The collections presented on October 3 were developed at the end of the course with the support of the undergraduate program's lecturers and technicians.
After this period of monitoring and mentoring, the jury will choose two winners: one will receive the ModaLisboa x IED – Istituto Europeo di Design Award, which guarantees a master degree in Rome or Milan; and the other will be awarded the ModaLisboa x Burel Factory Award, which ensures a creative residency at the Portuguese brand, dedicated to promoting artisanal processes.
The competition also has the support of Calvelex/Fabrics4Fashion, RDD Textiles and Riopele, which provide raw materials and promote more responsible production practices.
