Professor Paulo Seco Honored at National Rehabilitation Award

Architect and ESAD professor Paulo Seco was honored with the "Prémio Nacional de Reabilitação Urbana 2026" for his renovation project of the José Braga House.

Designed by Impare Arquitectura, the studio of the Coordinator of the Undergraduate in Interior Design, the project focused on a detached house designed by the architect Celestino Castro and built in 1949, considered one of the landmark works of modern architecture in Portugal.

The intervention sought to preserve the building’s architectural identity, combining historical research, structural rehabilitation, and adaptation to contemporary living standards.

"Prémio Nacional de Reabilitação Urbana" annually recognizes urban rehabilitation and regeneration projects that contribute to the enhancement of Portugal’s architectural and urban heritage.
