
Olavo Abrantes, architect working for the cinema and television industry, presents the conference Architecture for Cinema (10 Years of Transitions), within the ESAD Interiors Talks cycle.
Architecture for Film (10 Years of Transitions) aims to reflect on his professional career over the last 10 years and the transitions since he finished his Master's in Architecture, the work he has developed as a make-up artist and, currently, as a designer for the film and television industry.
Olavo completed his integrated Master's degree in Architecture at the University of Minho in 2013. He worked, for 5 years, as a maquettist and, in 2018, he begins his studies in Art Direction at Film Design International, under the supervision of Terry Ackland-Snow. This year, he joined the Art Departments while as a junior designer and maquettist on productions such as Morbius, The Batman and The School for Good and Evil. He is currently collaborating as a designer on Enola Holmes 2 and Kraven the Hunter. In addition, he maintains his professional activity as Art Director and Production Designer in several cinematographic projects of short films and music videos.
The conference takes place in the ESAD auditorium on the 20th October at 10:00.
