— Conference Limits and Restrictions of Typography | Joana Correia
A reflection on the limitations on * type design * and on the work suggested by the constraints and patterns that are part of typography. Joana is the founder of Nova Type Foundry, where she creates her own font families. Joana studied architecture and graphic design, and earned a master's degree in Typography Design from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom (2011), where she won a coveted Granshan award for Article.
— Conference Type, Art and Movement | María Ramos María Ramos, founder of NM Type, presents an approach to the multiple forms of our alphabet, which translate into the search for original ideas by * type designers *, who are constantly seeking inspiration. In collaboration with Design Indaba, NM Type created Movement, an experimental font inspired by the art of dance. María worked as a graphic and editorial designer, but through design projects, she discovered a new path for her career - type design. During her masters degree in Typography Design at the University of Reading, she developed the research project * Sastre *, which was awarded by the magazine Print and presented at the international exhibition Pangramme.
— Conference About Birra Saison | Viktoriya Grabowska
One of the first presentations of the Birra Saison font, a style font designed by Viktoriya Grabowska that will be published as part of the Birra flight family by Darden Studio. Viktoriya is dedicated to different projects, both design and research. Based in Poland, it takes care of the diacritical signs for its native Cyrillic writing. In 2019, after some years of working together on various type design projects, he joined the Darden Studio team.

— Draw-Cut-Paste: Building Experimental Paper Typography | Joana Correia, Maria Ramos, Viktoriya Grabowska
Guided by the three speakers, this workshop addresses typography that lives within the confines of the alphabet and letter shapes. The workshop explores the possibilities of creating new typographic forms made of paper as new symbols of human expression. The goal is to experiment with letter shapes and transport them to a different level. Overcoming the boundaries of design, of fonts, while ignoring the limitations of technology, is the goal to be achieved through the use of key concepts (boundaries, boundaries, interior / exterior, etc.) as a starting point.
