Enric Tormo i Ballester is a prestigious Professor of Technology Design, has a doctorate in History from Autonomous University of Barcelona and has a Degree in Graphic Design from the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos, also in Barcelona.

He was the Director of the Department of Design and Image at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (1994-2002), coordinator of the doctoral programme As Revoluções Tipográficas from the Department of Design and Image at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (1995-2002) and director of the Iberian Master’s Degree in Drawing, Graphic Production and Multimedia from the University of Barcelona (2003-2006).

He is the Director of the Post-Graduation Courses in Graphic Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the UB since 1997 and the Professor in charge of the Degrees in Design Technology and Graphic Arts from the Escuela del Gremio de las Artes Gráficas in Barcelona.

He is also the Director of the research project in Spanish and European Typography of the XVIII-XX Centuries and author of the matrices’ estate catalogue of the typographic foundation Neufville-Bauer.

The conference El Diseño, Herencia, Proyecto Y Conocimiento is a part of the Communication Design Week programme.
