In conjunction with the Undergraduate Degree in Digital Arts and Multimedia, ESAD is hosting a special film screening as part of the FEST Roadshow, inviting the entire academic community to an event featuring screenings and reflection on contemporary cinema.
The programme includes a screening of the short film “The Closing of a Refinery”, directed by Vasco Monteiro, followed by an open discussion with the director. Running for 16 minutes, the film is set against the backdrop of the former Leça da Palmeira refinery and explores themes related to the local area, memory and industrial transformation.
The session provides an opportunity for students to engage directly with a professional in the field, as well as to develop their critical perspective on contemporary cinema.
The session will also be attended by a representative from FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival, an initiative that aims to bring university students closer to the film industry.
