The blue ingredient: Designing future food systems

"Designing the Future Food Systems" explores the essential but often overlooked role of water in the way we grow, prepare and experience food. The talk covers strategies for water conservation, circular food design and the link between food design and sustainability.

The lecture will be given by Ricardo Bonacho, university professor, researcher and food designer, who has a PhD in Design with a specialism in Food Design. He is currently an assistant professor at the European University, where he coordinates the degree in Hotel Management and the degree in Design for Food Systems at the ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering UVIC-UCC. He is also co-founder of the F.O.R.K. organisation and the Food Design Lab in Lisbon, as well as Director of Innovation, Marketing and Communication at Imppacto, Catering & Eventos, where he works as a consultant in Food Design and Gastronomy.

This talk is part of the "Water Design Views 2025" cycle of events, organised by the Blue Design Alliance and funded by the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan.
