From the 2nd to 3rd of July, BLOOM Portugal Fashion will join ESAD and Matosinhos Town Hall to celebrate the future of fashion, focusing on identity, sustainability and creativity.

BLOOM is a platform that supports young creators, promoting the critical and creative thinking of the new generation. To give visibility to new voices in the fashion industry, the Undergraduate in Fashion Design at ESAD challenges its students to develop pieces that activate alternative ways of thinking with social, economic and environmental responsibility. 

The ESAD Showcase presents the projects of the final year students in two key moments: an exhibition that opens on the first day of Bloom, and a fashion show with some of the looks created by the students. The projects presented are supervised by the design duo Marques'Almeida, who teach at the school, in collaboration with the degree coordinators Anita Gonçalves and Joana Teodoro. For this show, the students are encouraged to work on critical skills, manual techniques and digital processes, building their own identity through pieces that defy the rules established by the market.

On the 3rd of July, the Bloom Contest PWD by Salsa Jeans will take place, in which ESAD will participate with four contestants. Candidates Enzo Peres and Nair Silva will graduate in Fashion Design in 2025, while former students Hélder Silva and Beatriz Monteiro completed their studies at ESAD in 2024 and 2023, respectively. The competition is aimed at young designers who present projects to create Portuguese designer fashion brands, with an identity based on the valorisation of design, the production of sustainable collections, the potential for digital affirmation and international growth.
