Landscapes: Interiors. Hospitality, Resonance and Synesthesia

— esad—idea's Exploratório Walks programme promotes creative and reflective walks. The next one, led by philosopher João Maria André, will be on 7 September, from 10am to 2pm, in Matosinhos.

Matosinhos

The first walk, on 7 September, was led by professor, philosopher, director and writer João Maria André, who took us along a route that passed by the Leça de Palmeira Movable Bridge, the Quinta de Santiago Museum and Quinta da Conceição. The theme was ‘Landscapes: Interiors. Hospitality, Resonance and Synesthesia’, João Maria André challenged our senses, beyond sight, and offered us a reading of texts that focused on concepts such as silence and eco-biography. At the end, we gathered around a large table, where we shared a picnic and the images and writing created in one of the suggested activities.

This walk was also the motto for the opening of the exhibition ‘Landscapes: Interiors. Photo-poetic essays’ with poems by João Maria André and photographs by Elsa Margarida Rodrigues. The exhibition is on until 29 September at the Quinta de Santiago Museum.

Exploratório Walks

The Exploratório Walks programme is a proposal from esad-idea that will welcome guests from different areas who will propose connections between places, experiences and themes.

The walks will take place regularly throughout the year and can be critical - with discussion of themes while walking - and/or creative - with silence and deep listening, visual representation or selective recollection as creative processes or in which the walk itself is a performative act.

This project is funded by FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P., under the project UIDP/05237/2020.
