Talk with Eduardo Noronha
Design&Drinks

Exploratório — Sede da Porto Design Biennale
Design&Drinks is a monthly series of talks that brings together different design schools to share experiences, ideas, and perspectives on the role of design today. The meetings take place on the last Thursday of each month, at 6 pm, at Exploratório — Headquarters of Porto Design Biennale, a dynamic space dedicated to exhibitions, talks, workshops, and events that bring design closer to the community.
Each session features a conversation, followed by a get-together at the bar, providing an informal space for networking among participants.
In this session, the speakers are designers Nuno Martins and Leonor Guimarães, representing EAAD – Escola de Arquitetura, Arte e Design da Universidade do Minho, who will share their experiences and professional perspectives on design.
Eduardo Noronha
He holds a degree in Design from the University of Aveiro and has held a PhD in Design since 2017, with a thesis entitled “Vertical Integration of Design in Industry”. He is an Assistant Lecturer on the Product Design course at the School of Architecture, Art and Design at the University of Minho and a Full Member of the Lab2PT Research Unit – Laboratory of Landscapes, Heritage and Territory. He carries out regular research in the fields of mobility, sustainable energy, the circular economy and healthcare devices. He is the founder of the noronhadesign studio in Aveiro, dedicated to developing innovation strategies through design to enhance the competitiveness of organisations.
The research carried out during his PhD sparked a particular interest in exploring methodologies geared towards radical innovation through design, which he has been testing and implementing in R&D projects he leads or collaborates on, some of which have been recognised nationally and internationally through design awards. He also devotes special attention to the personalised guidance of higher education students, supervising scientific work, academic projects and work placements in collaboration with industry, promoting innovative solutions with practical impact.
We count on your presence to strengthen this space for sharing, reflection, and socialising, bringing together the academic and professional design community in Portugal.
