Exploratório — Porto Design Biennale headquarters
Design&Drinks is a monthly series of talks that brings together different design schools to share experiences, ideas and perspectives on the role of design today. The meetings will take place on the last Thursday of each month, at 18:00, at Exploratório - Porto Design Biennale headquarters, a dynamic space dedicated to exhibitions, talks, workshops and events that bring design closer to the community.
Each session features a conversation, followed by socialising at the bar, providing an informal space for networking among participants.
This series opens with a conversation between designers André Almeida Santos and Gustavo Carreiro, both former students and lecturers at ESAD, who will share their experiences and professional perspectives on contemporary design.
André Almeida Santos is a designer, product manager and guest lecturer at ESAD, where he also completed his Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in Product Design. He currently works at CEiiA and independently, participating in Design and Research and Development (R&D) projects, mainly in the areas of mobility and cities, and digital solutions.
Gustavo Carreiro is an artist and animation director with a degree in Digital Arts and Multimedia from ESAD. He directed the short films "Quaranteen" (2020) and "Citizen Tourist" (2023), both of which won a Vimeo Staff Pick award. He has recently worked with brands such as CM Porto, IBM, Vox Media, Bloomberg, World Bank, Nike, and Netflix. In addition to digital media, he is represented by Ó Galeria and extends his visual language to print formats, murals, and painting.
We look forward to seeing you there to kick off this space for sharing, reflecting and socialising, bringing together the academic and professional design community in Portugal.
