On 17 October, ESAD will host a talk on the Arte y Moda project, presented by Rafael Méndez, president of the initiative. This project, which began in 2003 at Casa de la Obra Pía, aims to inspire fashion design through art. In the workshops, participants learn to use natural and recycled materials, promoting a new approach to sustainable consumption. The results of this work are presented at the National Museum of Fine Arts, where the different possibilities of the human body in fashion are explored. Every year, around 6,000 people, mainly young people, take part in this event, which not only promotes aesthetic taste but also environmental awareness. The programme also includes talks by international experts from the world of fashion.
ESAD will also host an exhibition of the work of Eduardo Rawdriguez, an internationally renowned Cuban photographer specialising in anthropological photography and artistic director of Arte y Moda. This exhibition will be presented by Miguel Trigo, his representative, and will be on display in ESAD's atrium from the same day.
Eduardo Rawdriguez, born in Havana in 1982, is a photographer specialising in anthropological photography. Trained in digital photography and image processing, he has worked in institutions such as the Fototeca de Cuba and won first prize in the UN competition in 2011. His exhibitions highlight Cuban culture.
