Throughout the course, opportunities for developing sustainable products are identified, their benefits are explained, efficiency and circularity decisions are promoted in collaborative group work. Skills of analysis and reflection are developed, and principles of sustainability, planet-centred design and impact through design are incorporated. The assessment focuses on the presentation of an essay - a product/service development proposal - that demonstrates efficiency, the impact of resource management, energy expenditure and environmental repercussions throughout the process (production, distribution, durability, collection, recycling and incursion into new production cycles).
