The award-wining directors/animators Xá/Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves,from the producer Bando à Parte, are speaking, at ESAD, about their course in animation in Portugal, namely, about the development of the short film Água Mole, since the initial idea to the final result. The goal is to demystify the production of animation movies and demonstrate that, at the north of the country, there are individuals working on this area.

Laura Gonçalves has a degree in Art and Multimedia and Xá/Alexandra Ramires in Painting, both from the Faculty of Belas Artes from the University of Lisbon. They started working in animation cinema in 2009 with the producer Sardinha em Lata, where they contributed to films such as Viagem a Cabo Verde by José Miguel Ribeiro, Sapateiro de David Doutel e Vasco Sá e Independência de Espírito by Marta Monteiro. In 2013, Laura Gonçalves develops the short film 3 Semanas em Dezembro, regarding her Master at Arts University of Bournemouth. She joins once again Xá/Alexandra Ramires in Porto, to work on the new project by the directors of Sapateiro, David Doutel and Vasco Sá, called Fuligem, in relation to the producer Bando à Parte, where they continue to work. Agua Mole was her first joint short film, completed in 2017.

This conference is a part of the program of the Degree in Multimedia and Digital Arts.
