He is Portuguese, from Porto. He has studied at ESAD and is now a professor. João Castro, within the studio he founded, Royal Studio, has actively collaborated with Adobe (San Jose, California) illustrating themes for the new Creative Cloud (new version of the advanced softwares for image editing since 2014).

He has developed 21 illustrations until now for softwares, such as Indesign, Premiere, Media Encoder, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat in the new responsive context of the apps. His work is announced every time a user opens the programme, inspiring for the use of new tools, functions and updates.

At the moment João is working on a new illustration, Welcome to Adobe Dreamweaver. The illustrations follow a high narrative flow, creating interpretations as free as the contents they show. Sometimes he uses types by the designer Joana Correia, also a former student and current professor of ESAD.

Royal Studio adds thus one more international client to a list that includes Yahoo (London), Refinery 29 and Webby Awards (both New York).
