Toshi Omagari was born in Fukuoka, Japan and graduated from Visual Communication Design at the Musashino Art University in Tokyo and MA Typeface Design at the University of Reading in UK in 2011.

From October 2011 to the end of that year, worked at the Monotype UK office as an intern typeface designer. Currently is based in London, working as a junior typeface designer at Monotype Imaging UK.

He spoke at the ATypI 2011 at Reykjavík about Mongolian script, and at TypoLondon 2011 about his internship experience. His typefaces include Tangerine from Google Fonts (one of the fourteen typefaces that were available at Google Fonts’ launch), and Marco, designed during the MA Typeface design course.
