In the scope of the new edition of the Book Fair, the publisher [Kalandraka][2] brings to ESAD the illustrator [Tiago Manuel][1], for an open lecture about O Amor e o Desamor na Poesia.

Author of an extensive artistic and literary work, Tiago Manuel did his artistic training with Aníbal Alcino and Júlio Resende. His work has been exhibited in and outside Portugal in renowned institutions and galleries, having won several awards.

The individual exhibitions that stand out are the ones in “Centro Cultural de Belém” (Lisboa, 2008), the Spectrum Sotos Gallery (Zaragoza, 2008), the Palmira Suso Gallery (Lisboa, 2007) or the “Lugar do Desenho”, at The Júlio Resende Foundation (Gondomar, 2002), and the “Arco/Casa da Cerca” (Almada, 2008), the “Prémio Stuart” Awards (Lisboa, 2007, 2006, 2004) or the “Salão Lisboa de Ilustração e Banda Desenhada” (Bedeteca de Lisboa, 2004, 2002, 2001, 2000).

As an illustrator, he in the newspapers “Público”, “Expresso”, “Jornal de Letras”, “Letras & Letras” and “O Diário”, and the magazines “Colóquio/Letras” of The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and “Ler/Círculo de Leitores” and the publishers ”Âmbar”, “ASA”, “Afrontamento”, “Media Vaca (Valencia)” and “Bertrand”. In 2012 he illustrated “Mário de Sá-Carneiro – Poetic Anthology”, for the Kalandraka, under the tutelage of the “Faktoria K de Livros”.

We should also mention O Sangue por um Fio, a poetry book by Sérgio Godinho, Assírio & Alvi (Lisboa, 2009), and the poster for the movie Ruínas by Manuel Mozos, Indie Festuval (Lisboa, 2009).

Since the year 2000, he already published 7 of his 25 heteronyms (12 books). In 2008, he created and began directing the comic books series O Filme da minha Vida, published by the “Associação de Produção e Animação Audiovisual AO NORTE”, in Viana do Castelo.

The Kalandraka’s Book Fair, where you can find good books and great opportunities, takes place in ESAD from May 29 to 31, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
