Along two weeks the students from 9th grade to 12th grade are invited to live in the middle of the higher education environment and develop multidisciplinary projects. Professors belonging to the 6 Bachelor courses will challenge, form and monitor the projects. The programme includes two activities that recreate the different components of design: Communication Design, Interiors Design, Product Design, Digital Arts and Multimedia, Fashion Design and Jewelry. It is a unique opportunity to get to know methods and technological manners, to experiment, to construct and to discover.

The SUMMER LAB will take place on the 13th and the 24th July 2015, from 9h30 to 17h30. The participants can sign up to the complete programme or just in one of the available workshops. For each program there will be accepted 18 students. The applications will be admitted until July 7th. If there are enough applicants, the two workshops may occur simultaneously.

The Skimming Makers

The workshop The Skimming Makers includes activities recreating the studio of Communication Design and Product Design. The subject is the Sea and it is proposed the creation of a concept, production and graphic animation of skimming board using workshop production techniques and stamping methods, specific to the application of the concepts acquired through the capture and exploration of the photographic image. This week will close with a diploma award ceremony, within a ludic activity at the beach of Matosinhos. 1-2-3D Interior

In an interdisciplinary work supported by several professors, the students will have the opportunity to experience the work process of the Interiors Design, Digital Arts and Multimedia and Communication Design courses. The participants in the workshop 1-2-3D Interior will build pieces of furniture out of cardboard, from a tridimensional module, to organize a wooden-made interior space. On that space will be projected interactively video images, elaborated in computer by the participants and cut-out with precision in order to fit the built forms.
