Joana Rêgo and Marta Varzim were in Istambul and Izmir, Turkey, under ERASMUS+ Staff Mobility for Teaching Program.

The overall objectives of this mobility were several, to share ideas, motivations and experiences regarding new approaches in art and design teaching programs, to establish personal and professional contact with the Mimar Sinan University and Yasar University in aim to develop possible common projects in the frame of the EU cooperation, to build new contacts, to increase knowledge of social, linguistic and cultural matters and also to establish a great opportunity to check the good practice of the contemporary art studies in East Europe and in the World.

We became aware about the different educational methods between the hosts and home institution, and also about the modern tendencies among young students, artists and designers. We were able to foment different educational methods in order to increase student´s self-awareness about thinking processes and multi - senses approaches in the act of creating ideias and projects. The workshops that we shared, had excellent results, and allowed us to share good teaching-learning experiences. We had a great time, exploring the wonderful cities in Turkey, living with the kind and friendly Turkish people, taking full advantage of all the available time." Joana Rêgo and Marta Varzim, 2015
