Exhibition of works by students from the Degree in Communication Design, developed within the collaborative publication RAZ - Risography from A to Z, composed of 4 series of typographic illustrations.
Starting with the selection of a letter and a word initiated by it, this project aimed to create an illustrated alphabet, serving as a motto for the visual exploration of the risographic printing technique.
Through the 26 letters of the alphabet, the students visually explored certain concepts, tested different graphics in the search for an authorial register or experimented with the technique as a preponderant part of this creative process.
Colour, shape and texture define a varied visual lexicon, establish dialogues in the superimposition of circular patterns, create vibrant visual tensions and, under a graphic expression coming from the printing technique used, interconnect the diverse visual approaches of this graphic object.
The curricular unit of Digital Lab II, in the scope of which this project was developed, focuses on the introduction of concepts about the digital, in areas such as print design, with emphasis on editorial design, where the ambivalence between the digital and the analogue is a constant.
The exhibition is on show in the atrium of ESAD, from May to September.
