Organized by Sonae Indústria in collaboration with Surforma, this project brings together the students of the Master in Product Design from ESAD and the students of the Degree in Product Design from UMA - Madeira University, with the goal of designing forms and applications in Flexcomp.

Flexcomp is a new, lightweight, fire-resistant and recyclable Surforma material that allows post-molding and remodeling, transforming preformed flat panels into curved surfaces.

From February 25 to March 1, ESAD and UMA students worked from a distance in six work teams (alpha, bravo, charlie, delta, echo and foxtrot) , sharing the activities developed through audio files and the connection via Skype.

Creativity, direction of concepts, definition of design and visualization of products were some of the criteria of this project. Students researched, conceived and developed various proposals, based on concepts such as emotions, natural forms, artificial senses, vision, touch and sound. This workshop resulted in some innovative proposals, applicable in the areas of product, furniture and mobility, through the use of the compact FlexComp.

In total, 40 concepts were presented, 5 of which were pre-selected for an exhibition at the International Fair Interzum, which runs from May 21 to 24 in Cologne, Germany.
