The second edition of the Progressive Sustainability in Fashion project was launched at the Trier University of Applied Sciences (Germany) on 4 July 2023, and was attended by ESAD and Birmingham City University (Birmingham/UK).
Based on international exchange experiences, this proposal aims to accelerate co-creation and knowledge in the field of sustainable fashion, as well as sustainable socio-cultural development in the form of equal rights, diversity in the workplace and inclusion in fashion education. The start of the second edition of the project included a series of workshops, study visits and socialising.
Working in multidisciplinary teams, participants are invited to engage in speculative research into potential applications for a regenerative future for fashion, exploring sector-specific solutions and interventions for greater sustainability in the field of supply chains, design, product development and manufacturing.
The ESAD team is made up of lecturers Anita Gonçalves and Joana Teodoro, students Bárbara Morais, Inês Coelho, Izabel Monnerat, Irene Zudaire (Fashion Design), Mariana Guedes (Communication Design) and Rita Meireles (Product Design).
The final presentation of the projects will take place at ESAD, from 16 to 20 October.
