Jeremy Aston, coordinator of the Master in Product Design from ESAD, reached the 1st prize in the Industry category and the students Lara Zudaire and Marina Godoy received an Honorable Mention in the category College Students, . The following students were selected as finalists: Renata Laranjeira, Mariana Greno, Inês Amorim, Akvilé Kontautaité, Hélène Lambrecht and Alessia Civett from the 3rd year of the Degree in Interior Design and Diogo Pimenta and Mariana Sarabanda from the Master in Product Design.

The Guilherme Award’16 appears with the purpose of encouraging professionals, industries and students to develop new products destined to the house space. The creation of the award has the purpose of defying the development of new projects with a strong investment in the three main areas, determinant for the evaluation of applications: Innovation, Technology and Design.

The students participated in group or individually in the category University Students that are a part of a Degree, Master or PhD in the area of Design or Architecture. In each category of the contest a winner was selected, announced in public at February 17, in a award ceremony at the Casino da Póvoa – Póvoa de Varzim.

The contest is promoted by AIMMP - Associação das Indústrias de Madeiras e Mobiliário de Portugal and Associative Design - The Best of Portugal.
