Book design award 2019

The Book 751 Dias - O Tempo não Consome a Eternidade. Paulo Cunha e Silva por Helena Teixeira da Silva, published by Porto City Council, designed by Inês Nepomuceno/esad — idea, Research in Design and Art, won the 2nd edition of the Book Design Award 2019.

Honorable Mention attributed to Imprimere, publication related to the exhibition Imprimere - Art and Process in the 250 Years of the National Press, published by the Imprensa Nacional da Casa da Moeda, designed by Degrau Design Studio. Imprimere - Art and Process in the 250 Years of the National Press, an exhibition that brings together instruments, machines, technologies and artifacts that illustrate the graphic production history in Portugal, was held from May 10, 2018 to January 5, 2019 at Casa do Design Matosinhos.

Among the selected works is the book Pádua Ramos. Do Maneirismo à Cultura Pop; Pádua Ramos. O coleccionador. Diálogos entre o equilíbrio e o desassossego; Pádua Ramos. A arquitectura do quotidiano 1960-1970, with monograph by Inês Nepomuceno, Susana Carreiras and Susana Martins, by esad-idea, and published by esad-idea.

Organized by the Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries - DGLAB, the Book Design Award seeks to promote the design and quality of production, to encourage editors, authors, designers, graphic companies and all those. Working with the printed book towards the quality of the design and the technical production of the publications, giving visibility and rewarding the objects and the producers of works of excellence are the goals of the Book Design Award, whose first edition took place in 2018.
