Bronze award in smc bmc contest

Rúben Silva, a student of the Master in Product Design at ESAD, obtained a bronze medal from the competition promoted by SMC BMC.

Organized by the European Aliance for SMC BMC, the SMC BMC DESIGN AWARD 2017 is the first international design competition, recognizing and promoting design excellence across a wide pattern of industries and disciplines conducted annually by designers students or young professionals (less than 3 years of experience) using advanced materials.

A good concept, coupled with a good idea, a fun project and a strategy on its use: this is how SMC BMC characterizes CORK, the product developed by Reuben.

CORK aims to create a new concept of outdoor furniture, in a unique and distinct way. One piece, according to a presentation by the ESAD student, can be consulted for new markets for SMC BMC and takes benefit of many of the advantages of performance material.

With a shape similar to a cork stopper, CORK is, in a way, a portable table, which can be taken anywhere. This table includes an ice bucket and lighting - created for moments of conviviality and leisure.
