The Beesweet Company - More Than Honey launched an idea contest guided towards the students from the Packaging Design module, regarding the Degree in Communication Design, aiming for the creation of a new package solution for one of its premium products.

A set of proposals were presented and the jury distinguished twelve final projects: the 1st prize was awarded to the student Marta Teixeira and 4 honorable mentions were assigned to the students Carlos Oliveira, Gil Pereira, Joana Lourenço and Sara García. The winning package was granted with a trip to Macau, concerning an innovation and entrepreneurship action on behalf of Portuguese companies. The lecturers Margarida Azevedo and João Lemos guided the project.

Beesweet Company sells flavored honey, an organic product with high gastronomical potential and medicinal value. The company develops natural honey aromas, resorting to plants to create lemon, mint, spicy, cinnamon, chocolate and salty flavors. The products are sold in a recyclable Top Dow container, in a form of a water drop.

This partnership between Beesweet and ESAD allows an approach between the business and the academic world, giving students the opportunity to develop a packaging solution to involve and present the honey container from Beesweet.

The presentation, the exhibition of the selected projects and the award ceremony occurred at the Porto Welcome Center on May 24, with a tasting of the products during one of the brand's promotional events.
