ESAD was once again invited to join the National Award for Painting Augusto Gomes Juvenile, created in 1980 in honor of Mestre Augusto Gomes. This one that began as a contest of works of the secondary schools of all the country, with a jury presided from the beginning by Mestre Júlio Resende, underwent from 1988 a reformulation, turning into a workshop of painting and other arts.

The purpose of these workshops is to provide young participants with an experience of artistic practice, contacting directly with artists from different perspectives and experimenting with various techniques and materials with approaches and work proposals presented throughout the week.

ESAD is represented this year by teachers Joana Rêgo and Helena Cordeiro, in the orientation of two of the artistic workshops of the edition of 2019, from July 1 to 5, at Escola Secundária Augusto Gomes.
