Augusto gomes prize

The ESAD has once more been invited to be part of the Augusto Gomes National Young Painting Prize, created in 1980 as a tribute to Master Augusto Gomes. The competition, that started as a national secondary schools prize, with a jury headed by Master Júlio Resende, has undergone some reformulations since 1988, becoming a painting and artistic workshop.

The main goal of these workshops is to provide an artistic experience to the young participants, getting in direct contact with visual artists from different areas and experiencing diverse techniques and materials with approaches and work proposals made along the week.

The professors and plastic artists Marta Varzim e Joana Rêgo are representing ESAD this year, orienting two workshops on June 30th and July 1st, at Escola Secundária Augusto Gomes.

The Augusto Gomes Prize exists for more than thirty years and has had the participation of important names such as Alberto Carneiro, Albuquerque Mendes, Alfredo Barros, Francisco Laranjo, among others, and recently the collaboration of ex-students of the school.
