Torto, by Marcelo Almiscarado, translates into physical deformations caused by the motor deficiency Pé Boto, commonly referred to as Pé Borto. The theme is explored metaphorically in a narrative based on two individuals. Recognizing in their bodies different parts before those around them, the characters set off for an aesthetic reconstruction with textile materials regarded as prosthetics. The two characters eventually create an empathetic relationship by exploring new volumetries and combinations. The silhouettes are worked on instinctively, revealing asymmetries and deformations created through elements such as elastic, corded holes and velcro. The exterior parts are made with technical materials and thermosetting. More fragile and delicate interior pieces appear, made in a wide taffeta structure, created through the handicraft technique of weaving in a junction of several multicolored cotton threads, contributing to the symbolism of the metamorphosis between the old, coarse and functional with the new, Delicate and decorative. Nude, blue, white and black are the exterior colors, in association with orthopedic footwear, which proves to be heavy, pragmatic and restrictive. Orange, lilac, green, yellow, pink and white are extracted from the photographic narrative in an attempt to transport the symbolic to the material.
Post-its, by Fabiana Pereira, represents a personal and nostalgic reflection on existence. After finding a deteriorated 1987 calendar belonging to his grandfather, where he discovered drawings from his childhood, he returned to the past. A past associated with innocence and village life, which motivated a reflection on the technological and innovative present and a future yet to be built. The presented collection focuses on the representative overlaps of the accumulation of experiences. Pieces with children's volumes reinforce references associated with the field and the technical details bring us closer to a technological future. Details of the agenda, such as the folds of torn leaves, turn into males and asymmetries in the finish. The designs influence the prints and colors associated with childhood, such as the orange present in the post-its diary, used in technical fabrics and with a touch of paper.
