PORTO.MODAPORTUGAL Fashion Design Competition, organised by CENIT — Associative Center for Textile Intelligence, aims to promote young European designers by communicating their work as well as to establish connections with the local textile industries.

Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom are the seven European countries in competition. The competition includes the participation of three designers from each country, whose outfits will be presented in a final ceremony, from December 11 to 13, in Oporto.

ESAD was one of the three national institutions invited to represent Portugal in the competition, with Rita Sá, student of the Degree in Fashion Design.

The works will be evaluated based on different criteria, like creativity and innovation, silhouette, quality of execution and originality. The jury of the competition, which includes experts from different countries, will assign a Prize for Best Collection (5000 euros) and a First Prize per country (2500 euros).
