Petites Folies sobre o Douro is one of the projects under the satellite activity of the Porto Design Biennale 2021. Presenting a set of site-specific architectural spaces/installations/objects in public space, it rearranges local circumstances and redefines city paths, creating new focal points and contexts for the landscape: Outras Paisagens [other landscapes].

Porto Design Biennale is organised by the municipalities of Porto and Matosinhos and by esad-idea, ESAD's research centre.

Self-build has a tradition at ESAD: the Master in Interior Design, coordinated by Maria Milano, organizes annual workshops in this area, exploring the relationship between designing and doing, taking into account the principles of sustainability and integration in the environment. Of note, over the past few years, the workshops Christmas Treehouse (Paredes House of Culture, 2018), @nosprimaverasound (Festival NPS – Porto, 2017 and 2018), Extemporary Capsule (Milan Triennial, 2016), Arena Selfmade (EPD Foundation – Porto, 2013) or Viewport WineBar (Matosinhos Municipal Market, 2012).
