Pablo Martín studied graphic design at Eina Design School in Barcelona, where he has taught typography for over 15 years. He worked for Eskenazi & Asociados and for Vignelli Associates in New York before co-founding Grafica alongside Fernando Gutiérrez in 1993.

Grafica has worked for national and international clients including El País, BMW, Phaidon Press, IBM, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Ingo Maurer, Santa & Cole, La Fábrica, Barcelona Design Museum, Metalarte, Joyco and Barcelona Tourism Office amongst many others. Pablo has been Art Director of Camper between 2001 and 2006, redesigning the identity, advertising, press campaigns and website as well as printed matter including The Walking Society magazine. He redesigned numerous newspapers for Grupo Godó, including Mundo Deportivo, La Vanguardia and all its supplements including the Sunday Magazine, Culturas, Què Fem and Dinero. He also redesigned the Portuguese Pública Sunday supplement and the financial newspaper Cinco Días for Grupo Prisa.

The studio’s work has been recognised nationally and internationally with awards and certificates from Laus Awards, British Design & Art Directors, The Annual (Creative Review), Art Directors Club of New York, Type Directors Club of New York, Art Directors Club of Europe, Society of Publications Designers, Society of News Design, Donside Design Awards and the Society of Typographic Designers.

Pablo has been Jury Member is national and international awards including D&AD, Laus Awards, Institute of Creative Advertising and Design and The Art Directors Club of Europe. He is a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale.

In September this year Grafica and Astrid Stavro Studio merged to create a new design consultancy based in Palma de Mallorca, Design by Atlas.
