Regarding the Municipal Reading Plan of Matosinhos, a workshop with Carla Maia de Almeida, regarding the Post Graduated Course in Illustration and Digital Animation, is taking place at ESAD.

Born in Matosinhos, Carla Maia de Almeida is a freelance journalist, writer, trainer and translator in the field of children’s books. Currently, she is responsible for the divulgation and critic of children’s books, at LER magazine. With a degree and a post graduated course in Social Communication at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, she also took a post graduated course in Children’s Book at the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa. She was the first author of children’s books to benefit from a residence abroad sponsored by the Direção-Geral do Livro e das Bibliotecas in October 2010. Her first juvenile novel, Irmão Lobo (2013) by the publisher Planeta Tangerina, was illustrated by António Jorge Gonçalves. In her blogue O Jardim Assombrado she writes about books, among other subjects.
