Visual Metaphors is the result of the final work of the 2016/17 and 2017/18 school years, in the course unit of Drawing I, on the programmatic topic Representation Approaches.

Taking the work of the photographer Chema Madoz (Madrid, 1958) as a reference, the students developed a metaphorical work by selecting two objects that are related in an unexpected way. The purpose of this project is to provoke reactions, be it astonishment, discomfort or happiness. Each student selected the materials to be used and the approaches to be represented.

The project, coordinated by the teacher Paulo Oliveira, focuses on three aspects of the curricular unit, such as modeling drawing by the line and the tonal area, diagrammatic or schematic drawing and precise-release contour drawing.
