Materials are present in everything that surrounds us. They can be structural or merely decorative, warm, cold, transparent or rough. They have the power to activate the 5 senses and completely change the dynamics and perception of a space.
The relevance of materials for the Interior Design area results in their study and the analysis of their origins, applications, variations and unique characteristics. Materials Matter exhibits the different samples of the materials analysed.
In order to collect the materials, the 1st year students of the Master in Interior Design visited 10 companies, namely Azulaico, Microcrete, Finsa, Studio 8, Porcelanosa, Azulima, J.P. Leitão, Marnorte, Amorim and Panoramah. These visits aim to bring the students closer to the labour market, the companies and the raw materials they will use in their future projects.
The exhibition Materials Matter can be visited until April 14th, at the ESAD Gallery.
