Mar Infinito is the first feature film by Carlos Amaral, director, screenwriter and ESAD teacher. Produced by Bando à Parte, with the support of ESAD, Mar Infinito also features the participation of lecturers Alexandro Jacinto (3D), Rui Caldas (sound) and Andrew Howard (voice off).
Mar Infinito will premiere on May 26th and will be screened at Trindade Cinema (Porto), Alma Shopping (Coimbra), Cinema Medeia Nimas, Alvalade City, Amoreiras (Lisbon) and Forum Madeira (Funchal).
The film, which premiered in March in the USA, is considered one of the best science fiction films to watch this year and is now nominated for the Shophia Awards, in the category of Best Characterisation and Special Effects.
Synopsis
In a parallel existence, Peter battles to join the human exodus to another planet. He lives beset by dreams and frustrations of being left behind until he meets Eva, who challenges his goals. But it is on a flooded planet that he ends up alone, searching for her, while being confronted with the purpose of his journey.
