ESAD has been invited to indicate a fashion designer recently graduated, within the Mediterranean Fashion Prize 2015, to integrate the list of proposals of the competition.
David Catalán, student of the Fashion Design Bachelor 2012/2013, has been chosen to make part of the event that wants to bring closer companies and designers. Among applicants of 19 countries he has been placed among the 10 awarded shortlisted by Maison Méditerranéenne des Métiers de la Mode.
The 10 shortlisted will attend an intensive programme, from May 20th to 23rd, in Marseille, that includes masterclasses and meetings with specialists, consumers and international media. The course will continue from June to December 2015, with several fashion specialists. They will have the opportunity to show their collections.
David Catalán has been present with his collection NO SIGNAL, with a strong connection to the media and technology and also to the noises that occur in their process and evolution.
Among other participations and acknowledgments, the path of David Catalán started in Portugal with the presentation of his first collection Print Voltage, Summer/Spring 2014, at BLOOM in the 33rd edition of Portugal Fashion 2013; the award of Melhor Colecção and Melhor Coordenado Feminino on the competition AcrobActic; with the collection New Roots Autumn/Winter 2013 and with the prize Talent Samsung Ego/Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2014.
