Raul Serafim is a lighting designer. He is graduated by the Faculdade de Engenharia do Porto in Electrical and Computer Engineering and has a PhD from the Polytechnic of Madrid in Natural and Artificial Lighting. In the early 90s he worked as a researcher at INESC in the area of Management and Use of Energy. Since then, he has been working as a designer with Portuguese architects such as Fernando Távora, Siza Vieira, Eduardo Souto Moura, Manuel Aires Mateus, Alcino Soutinho or Rui Lacerda, among others. He developed the projects of Light-Design of the following institutions: Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Fundação de Serralves, Museu do Banco de Portugal, Museu Paula Rego, Salão Árabe do Palácio da Bolsa do Porto, Casinos of Vilamoura, Praia da Rocha and Estorial, Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, among many others.
