
Lecturer at Vytautas Magnus University, in Kaunas, Daiva Citvarienè presents at ESAD, in the ERASMUS programme context, a series of case studies on Lithuanian contemporary art.
The lecture will introduce the most interesting projects of Lithuanian contemporary art which address the themes of history and memory. The Soviet past and national traumas are crucial artistic inspirations not only for the artists who lived in the Communist system but also for those young contemporary artists who were born at the end of the Soviet era.
The case studies presented at the lecture will include the projects of internationally established artists such as Deimantas Narkevi?ius, Gediminas Urbonas, Gintaras Didžapetris and others.
Daiva Citvarienè has a doctoral degree in Humanities (Art Studies), a master degree in Art History and Criticism and a bachelor degree in History and Theory of Arts, Vytautas Magnus University. She's a lecturer of the Department of Art History and Criticism, Faculty of Arts of Vytautas Magnus University since 2010.
