In out on drawing - an approach to architectural space from the experience of drawing

IN OUT ON Drawing is an international workshop offered by two professors to a small group of undergraduate students, challenging them to discover, observe and draw inside and outside the architectural space, held between 8 and 11 April. It arises from the intersection of sensitivities and affinities in relation to architectural space and observational drawing, and is fuelled by the complementarity of each teacher's approach to drawing.
The starting point is a full-day visit to a reference architectural space to draw, followed by two days of work (two-dimensional and three-dimensional) in the classroom, based on the drawing materials produced on site, ending with the dissemination of the work done by the students in the form of a small presentation and exhibition.
In 2024, the workshop was based on a visit to Casa das Marinhas (Alfredo Viana de Lima, 1957, Esposende, Portugal) and the students' work focused on the binomial colour/plane.
